The Art Of Surfing (TAOS) is running a 2-day grom technique tune-up course in Whangamata from the 2nd – 3rd March 2019.
With the summer contest season in full swing, it’s important that aspiring junior surfers have the correct instructions and training methods to focus on to ensure their surfing is in tune for the summer events.
The Art Of Surfing’s coaching programmes help surfers identify how they can best correct their technique and uses the latest technology to demonstrate training methods aimed at eliminating any performance flaws.
The course will run over two days and is available to all recreational and competitive junior surfers aged 10-17 who are serious about learning correct surfing technique and working on specific changes to take their surfing to the next level.

WHO / LEVEL
All junior surfers aged 10-17 that are competently paddling into their own waves and attempting to perform manoeuvres on the open face
- Venue analysis & peak positioning overview
- Filmed surfing sessions
- On the spot video review using state of the art analysis software on the Ipad
- Side by side pro/client comparison
- Identification and discussion of problem areas
- Instructions and training methods to correct surfing technique

A TYPICAL DAY AT TAOS COURSES INCLUDE
8:30am – 9:00am: Coach meet & greet with participants & find surfing spot
9:00am – 10:30am: Filmed surfing session #1
11:00am – 12:00pm: Video analysis of first session
12:00am – 12:45pm: Lunch
12:45pm – 1:00pm: Discussion of instructions & goals for surfing session #2
1:00pm – 2:30pm: Surf session 2 with in-water coaching
2:30pm – 3:00pm: On beach feedback of the second session and day wrap up
